LONG BIO (about 150 words) Chris Wasden, EdD, is Professional in Residence, Finance, at the Woodbury School of Business, Utah Valley University, and founder of Crucibl Methodology, LLC, the company behind the Crucibl method and AI-Proof, tools that help educators redesign assignments, syllabi and courses. His courses use no textbook. AI is allowed on every assignment, and using it is never cheating, but every arc ends with the AI switched off and students defending their own work live. After four years of rebuilding his courses for AI, he reached one conclusion: AI didn't create the crisis in assessment. It revealed it and sped it up. He designs backward from what students must do on their own, and helps other educators do the same through keynotes, workshops and faculty development. Earlier in his career he worked in strategy and innovation at DarioHealth, PwC, the University of Utah and JPMorgan. He holds an EdD from George Washington University (2010), an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management (1987), and a BS in Accounting and a BA in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University (1985), and is co-author of Tension: The Energy of Innovation (2015) and Solving for Why (2019).
