About
Chris Wasden, EdD
Professional in Residence, Finance, Woodbury School of Business, Utah Valley University.
I teach finance courses designed backward from what students must do on their own, with AI allowed on every assignment. I spent four years reforming my courses, curriculum and assessments, adapting to AI little by little, until I realized AI was requiring me to be an architect and recreate my courses from the ground up. That is what pushed me to create Crucibl.
Earlier in my career I worked in strategy and innovation, most recently as Chief Strategy Officer at DarioHealth (2018–2026). Before that I was Executive Director of the Sorenson Center for Discovery & Innovation at the University of Utah (2014–2018) and Global Healthcare Innovation Leader at PwC (2007–2014), and earlier I worked in mergers and acquisitions at JPMorgan (1986–1995).
I hold an EdD from George Washington University (2010), where my dissertation studied the tensions behind the global financial crisis as a complex adaptive system. I also hold an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management (1987) and a BS in Accounting and a BA in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University (1985). I co-authored Tension: The Energy of Innovation (2015) and Solving for Why (2019).

Are you a teacher? Do it yourself.
For teachers from K-12 through graduate school. Paste one assignment. AI-Proof gives back a version where AI coaches the practice and fades out, revisions earn the points, and the final checkpoint happens in class with AI off. You also get a rubric, plus a parent note for K-12 or a syllabus-ready AI statement for college courses.
